Essential Duties:
  • Manage space and operations of the school's Parent Resource Center; greet and assist parents.
  • Develop and maintain a Parent Resource library and provide training for parents in the use of materials.
  • Assist parents with the understanding of Title I Part A, ESSA, reports cards, compacts, assessments, progress reports, Parent Rights & Responsibilities, and school improvement.
  • Calculate and maintain accurate data of family engagement documents, input summary reports, and evaluation summaries.
  • Submit all required Title I documentation to the comprehensive database for Title I monitoring by the posted deadlines.
  • Monitor and maintain records acquired by Federal Programs and the Georgia Department of Education Family-School Partnerships.
  • Assist in the development/implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the school's Parent and Family Engagement Program, Plan, and School-Family Compact.
  • Coordinate academic-based learning opportunities/workshops for parents at flexible times.
  • Maintain consistent communication with all parents, families, and school staff regarding family engagement and partnering in the student's education and achievement.
  • Create, acquire, and maintain meeting documentation to include invitations, attendance records, agendas, presentations, notes or minutes if applicable, and meeting evaluations.
  • Conduct professional learning sessions with staff to build their capacity to effectively communicate and partner with parents in their child's education; may facilitate as assigned by the principal or designate to another.
  • Maintain consistent communication with all parents, families, and school staff regarding family engagement and partnering in their student's education and achievement via multiple methods (ex. school newsletter and/or Parent Center newsletter, and/or website).
  • Regularly navigate the GaDOE Family-School Partnerships webpage to stay abreast of State compliance and training webinars.
  • Organize and facilitate education and training opportunities, meetings, and activities for parents to engage in their student's education.
  • Assist in the development/implementation and monitoring of the Parent and Family Engagement budget (1%).
  • Provide orientation for all parents new to the school.
  • Organize volunteer program; recruit and provide continuous training for volunteers.
  • Manage family engagement surveys and annual evaluations of workshops, meetings, and overall program.
  • Work closely with school administration and leadership to develop a calendar of events for the school community to build parent and staff capacity.
  • Work with parents, families, and school staff to jointly develop and annually revise the School Parent and Family Engagement Plan and the School-Parent Compact.
  • Serve as liaison between the local school and the Federal Programs Department and the Parent Engagement Specialist.
  • Participate in teacher conferences, assisting parents with the understanding of progress reports, school progress reports, and report cards, as needed/requested.
  • Assist parents in accessing community resources through the School Social Worker or community agencies.
  • Develop partnerships with other social agencies.
  • Serve as a partner or resource to the PTA or other parent organizations, as needed/requested.
  • Establish and meet regularly with school council or committee, as needed/requested.
  • Develop partnerships and collaborate with Federal, State, and local programs, community Pre-Ks, in-house Pre-K, and feeder schools to coordinate and conduct activities to assist families with transition.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, required.
  • Experience working with Title I programs, preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal programs, specifically Title I, preferred.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, preferred.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
