Brownfield is the oldest and largest agricultural radio network in the U.S. Hundreds of radio stations across 10 states carry agricultural programming created by Brownfield's award-winning team of farm broadcasters. Learfield is also home to four statewide radio networks that provide news, sports and feature programming to radio stations throughout the Midwest, including: Minnesota News Network, MissouriNet, Radio Iowa and Wisconsin Radio Network.

This is a part time position with the Brownfield Ag News team and will work alongside Brownfield anchor/reporters to learn to create and produce unique content for Brownfield's radio network and various multi-media platforms. This role will entail travel by car to cover events, interviewing industry influencers, anchoring radio and video programs and contributing to all Brownfield products.

The successful candidate is a college/technical school student studying Agriculture, Communications, Journalism or closely related field with interest in learning how to become an effective and trusted news voice, whether in written word only or orally, through instruction in writing skills, researching story leads and real in-studio experience. The candidate will learn how to interview newsmakers, edit, voice, and produce real audio programs.

At Brownfield, we have exciting new products and projects in development, including one focused on the next generation of agriculture.

This position can be based in our Jefferson City, Missouri location or remotely in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota or Nebraska. Some schedule flexibility during the summer will be given based on the selected candidate's pre-set commitments, but generally, the role will work 30 hours per week.

The role will begin work mid to late May and end in August, depending upon school schedule.
