The Role
  • Collaboration with the HW Engineering team to define, develop and maintain new test procedures that align with product specifications and design requirements.
  • Collaboration with Manufacturing partners to provide ongoing support to ensure high product quality and achieve product yield targets.
  • Manufacturing test code/utility development for compute, networking and storage components
  • Thoroughly document all stages of software and hardware development, ensuring clarity and traceability throughout the testing process.
  • Maintain test plans, enhancements and new product test development roadmaps
  • Support all aspects of the manufacturing test process from new hardware to sustaining support at multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Cross functional work to ensure the test processes and their implementation to production provide the highest quality of products through optimal test coverage.
  • Develop hardware test tools/utilities and validate them before product launch.
  • Document test processes for new products.
  • Evaluate and optimize test coverage.
  • Provide feedback to other engineering groups to get issues resolved.
Responsibilities
  • Support Manufacturing Test Development for new and existing hardware designs.
  • Develop automated test scripts for Functional and System tests using Python and open source utilities.
  • Support the development, integration and deployment of test platforms for Vast's global manufacturing partners.
  • Provide technical support and failure analysis for discrepant production components and assemblies.
  • Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action and Failure Modes Effects Analysis on defects and escalations.
  • Train operators on test processes and support recurring certification programs
  • Continuously focused on process improvement and developing Best Known Methods.
  • Review new software releases and develop solid and robust test process scripts.
  • Manage the transfer and set up of new products or new software to a manufacturing site.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Scripting language experience to support existing scripts and for developing new production programming and test scripts.
  • Knowledge of programming devices like CPLD, FPGA, and Flash memory will be helpful.
  • Experience with setting up, supporting, and using Windows PCs as 'test stations' on small/medium multi-switch LANs. Knowledge of Linux servers and network topologies.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing tests, hardware development, or software development and validation.
  • Good understanding of compute and storage architectures
  • Experience integrating software with high level hardware components in a system.
  • Familiar with manufacturing process and PLM systems
  • Domestic and international travel may be required to transfer products and provide on-site training.
  • Willingness to work across time zones to collaborate with teams in Israel, EU,
  • Willingness to remotely support the manufacturing test process at our CMs.
  • Work with existing test infrastructure and maintain and improve upon it.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • New graduates and candidates with a few years of experience working in a high-tech environment will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop test code in scripting languages.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to define requirements and capability to deliver test solutions
  • Bench-top electrical debug tool experience as well as electrical design of test circuitry
  • Experience in circuit-level debug to the component level
  • Linux-based product OS testing and control
