Job Summary:

The WMS Implementation Engineer is responsible for overseeing the successful deployment and integration of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) within Carriers distribution facility in Charlotte, NC. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing system changes, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations and will include working with a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider as well as engineering and manufacturing teams.

Will be working very closely with the ERP Transformation Director.

Responsibilities:

1. Understand Current State:

o Products and material flow:

1. How product comes into the plant, where it goes once there and how its staged before going to the production line

2. System Implementation:

o Define business requirements for WMS software upgrades, deployment, and system configuration.

o Conduct software implementation changes.

o Recommend and manage system changes, including new concepts and improvements in collaboration with the software supplier.

3. Project Planning and Execution:

o Plan and outline tasks, timeframes, and responsibilities for WMS implementation.

o Ensure the project is executed within requirements and aligns with organizational goals.

4. Warehouse Operations:

o Implement warehouse procedures that ensure efficient space utilization and safety compliance.

o Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure consistent stock quality through regular assessments.

o Streamline operations using advanced warehouse management technologies.

5. Continuous Improvement:

o Assist in the development and implementation of capital projects related to warehouse operations.

o Collaborate with key stakeholders to improve processes and enhance productivity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics field (4+ years).

Very Strong Excel skills

Strong Math skills

Knowledge of materials management

Ability to organize daily activities and to make quick decisions

Ability to be multi-functional in a stop-and-go operation.

Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Strong leadership skills

Ability to influent other team members and engineers

Experience with material presentation and visual management tools

Strong analytical skills and use of Microsoft Office suite

Nice-to Have:

o SAP experience

o Warehouse Management System experience

o Experience in a similar industry: HVAC, Automotive, Heavy Equipment, etc

o Experience working with Third Party Logistics Providers
