Category Dental Description The EFDA performs many tasks inclusive of scheduling appointments, record-keeping, taking X-rays, applying sealant and fluoride, and assisting providers with patients. The EFDA works under the direction of licensed professionals to complete lab work and prep materials for the provider to use during procedures. It is paramount that the EFDA helps to ensure dental procedures go smoothly by anticipating provider needs and making patients comfortable. This professional will effectively interact with patients, advocates and other care team members while maintaining all standards of professional dentistry. The EFDA is a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and has the goal of assisting patients to assume responsibility for their own oral health.
