Prepare and/or review State and Federal compliance, to be filed in a timely manner.
Full understanding of Tax regulations and impacts to ensure compliance with laws and regulations at all levels.
Manage and understand Sales Tax in accordance with each state the organization operates in and the regulatory environment in which the Company operates.
Create and establish relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders in the areas of planning, and consulting on required Tax practices.
Identify and reduce any and all tax risks for the organization with effective communication and a solid understanding of tax laws and regulations.
Monitor and maintain Tax balances and all reconciliations.
Provide support and assistance in financial audits.
Prepare quarterly income tax provision and tax accruals.
Partner and support Accounting staff when information needs to be provided and shared.
Calculate estimated tax payments.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Behaviors:
Exceptional knowledge of Tax compliance and tax provision and all other applicable areas.
Ability to interact and create relationships with internal and external customers effectively.
Strong leadership and communication skills, and able to work cross-functionally and colloaborate.
Strong analytical and logic skills with high attention to detail.
Superior critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
Proactive approach and ability to lead projects when necessary.
Ability to communicate cross-functionally within the organization.
Education/ Experience:
5-7 years of experience in Tax related roles.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in, Finance, Accounting, or Taxation
CPA or MBA is preferred, but not required.
Telecommunications experience preferred, but not required.
Eager to learn from others and develop new skills in the Tax space.
Applicable certifications with focus on tax and state/federal regulations.
Physical Demands:
Sedentary Work – Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
