The position is part of the North American (NA) Engineering Design team. This team is part of the large GEMTE Global Design & Engineering organization supporting North American & Global workload. The Engineering designs cover a wide range and sizes of industrial type applications; Air Separation Units (ASU), Hydrogen Processing Units, LNG facilities, Gasification, and Technology improvements.Job responsibilities are focused on preparing 3D CAD design models using the Smart 3D (S3D) software tool and creating 2D drawings in Microstation and SmartSketch for construction packages. Types of Electrical design models and drawings will include a variety of drawing types, including but not limited to single line development, Medium and Low voltage cable sizing and schedules, medium and low voltage electrical control schematic, wiring interconnections, junction and control box design, heat trace systems design and layout, etc. The Designer shall also be responsible for creating S3D models of cable tray layouts, underground conduit layouts, grounding/earthing layouts, lighting layouts, junction box and control station locations, etc..The position requires the individual lead design groups located in China and India as well as mid and entry level designers in the US. Providing direction on design schedules and activities, reviewing design and vendor drawings, attending project meetings and tracking design hours against budget.The individual will work under the direction of the Electrical Design Manager located in Allentown, PA and will be part of a small energetic team. In addition to using and reviewing S3D models, the individual shall know how to obtain relevant information, review vendor & equipment drawings, understand design criteria, and read project documents. The individual will understand the concepts of Electrical design and how they apply to construction.The individual must be self-motivated and have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.This position will interface with counterparts in other engineering and design centers located in India, England, and China.This position will require some regional travel with International travel being possible.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Direct diverse electrical design teams located in the US, China and India. Create S3D models for cable tray layouts, underground conduit systems, grounding systems, lighting layouts, junction box locations, electrical building layouts, and receptacle/control station layouts.Complete and/or review detailed design drawings for electrical distribution and control systems.Create and/or review Electrical drawings for site construction activities.Review vendor submittals and equipment reference drawings.Check drawings for accuracy and format.Attend project & group meetings.Interface with other Design teams Civil/Structural, Piping, Stress Analysis, Mechanical & Machinery, etc.The job may require occasional travel to domestic sites and other international engineering centers.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Technical school education with CAD or Associate Degree in Drafting.Minimum 12 plus years of experience in power and control distribution design, cable tray design, power cable sizing, conduit and conduit duct bank sizing, earthing/grounding design Voltage drop calculations, lighting design and illumination calculations, 3D modeling & creating design drawings using software tools such as AutoCAD, SPEL, S3D, MicroStation V8 CE, Solidworks, or other 3D software.Experience with Smart Electrical (SPEL), Smart 3D (S3D), and SmartSketch is preferred.Willingness to learn new CAD software tools, such as SPEL, S3D and SmartSketch.Create and populate 2D drawings from 3D models.Lead and/or attend 3D model reviews.Must show attention to detail and possess the ability to work independently over time.Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word is required.Strong written and verbal communication skills.#INDGEM#LI-Hybrid#LI-FN1#hiring#airproductsAir Products proudly values the skills, dedication, and leadership that Veterans bring to the table.
