**Position Summary**

Responsible for managing the Consumer Loan Officers and partnering with other Lending, Retail and Cards leaders within the organization to drive production and growth goals. Responsible for leading a sales and service culture within the Consumer Lending department. Compiles, delivers and revises as necessary, monthly performance and product scorecards to the Loan Officers. Works one-on-one with them to assess their strengths and create unique coaching and development plans based on individual needs. Continuously re-evaluates areas of opportunities and provides lenders with best practices and techniques that drive and sustain results. Develops and deploys sales contests that motivate lenders and assist with goal attainment. Oversees and manages changes within the consumer lending incentive program. Manages loan training initiatives for all organizational employees who originate consumer loans. Partners with the Professional Development department where necessary. Oversees the recruiting, hiring, corrective action and termination of staff with the support of HR.

**Essential Functions Include:**

* Work one-on-one with Loan Officers to assess strengths and create unique coaching and development plans based on individual needs. Continuously re-evaluate areas of opportunity and provide lenders with best practices and techniques that drive and sustain results. Manage relevant changes to scorecard categories or metrics as necessary. Compile incentive results and ensure proper payouts accordingly. Develop, deliver and revise monthly Loan Officer Scorecards.

* Teach lenders how to negotiate, overcome objections and utilize the credit unions Value Proposition. Work with Loan Officers on developing referral sources and how to ask for the business. Ensure lenders establish and maintain a proper and timely follow-up routine. Perform quality monitoring of lender/member interactions, providing timely feedback on areas of opportunity. Utilize process-based management techniques to map out steps within the loan application and sales process that are proven successful and updates as necessary.

* Manage loan training initiatives for all organizational employees who originate consumer loans. Hold regular training sessions, inter and intra-departmentally, geared towards cross-selling and best practices. Facilitate role playing and other activities that assist with building sales skills as well as team member engagement. Partner with the Professional Development team where necessary. Ensure communication regarding any changes or updates to consumer lending guidelines, initiatives or best practices.

* Develop and launch regular production and sales contests that motivate staff and drive results. Partner with third party vendors that offer ancillary products to create annual goals, training plans and any commitment to financially support contests.

* Actively develop and expand upon department and organization strategic focus. Thoroughly understand major credit union financials and is able to manage the lending department toward an optimal financial impact on the organization. Participate in any assigned organization or department project team or initiatives that support a project team.

* Maintain a current working knowledge of all consumer lending guidelines, policies and procedures. Work closely with the Risk department to identify compliance/quality related issues with any consumer or retail lender or any aspect within the loan portfolio. Work one-on-one with lenders to ensure correction within a timely manner and takes corrective action measures when necessary.

**Required Education and Experience:**

* High School diploma or G.E.D. required.

* Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting or related field strongly preferred.

* 5-years of experience with loan origination in a financial institution required.

* 5 years of sales and negotiating experience required.

* Demonstrated track record in consistently achieving aggressive sales objectives.

* 3-years of experience leading a sales team required.

* Previous training experience preferred.

**Work Environment:**

This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment. This position does include some remote work.

**Physical Requirements:**
