One of the nations top engineering firms is seeking an experienced Protection and Controls Engineer to join our team in Hamilton, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for designing protection and control systems for electrical utility projects, including creating critical deliverables such as one-line diagrams, relay protection schematics, control wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.

**Responsibilities:**

- Design protection and control systems for utility projects, including one-line/three-line diagrams, relay protection, control schematics, instrumentation, alarms, SCADA controls, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams

- Develop detailed cable schedules and bills of material

- Collaborate with electrical layout designers, project engineers, protection engineers, construction teams, and others

- Review and provide guidance on protection and controls designs by other team members

- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers on technical documentation and drawings

- Ensure designs comply with utility client standards such as PSEG, FirstEnergy, ACE, Con Ed, PPL, and JCP&L

**Requirements:**

- Minimum 5 years of experience in protection and controls design for utilities

- Strong understanding of one-line and three-line diagrams for relay protection

- Proven skills in controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems design

- Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting protection and control drawings

- Ability to review designs for compliance with standards

- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

- Comprehensive knowledge of control systems principles and technology applications
