Reporting to the Lead Social Worker, the BSW Social Worker is a critical member of the Mental Health and Impact Teams. The BSW Social Worker is part of a team of mental health professionals who are charged with providing trauma informed care in the day-to-day interactions, supports, and referrals needed to meet Club Members' emotional, mental, and behavioral health needs. This position will begin by focusing on the needs at assigned Clubs, but at times may support at other clubs or may adjust their focus depending on Club needs.

The Social Worker-BSW organizes and leads individual conversations and social emotional learning small groups for members addressing issues/topics including, but not limited to, anger management, anxiety, grief and loss, sexuality, and self-esteem. They will advocate for services and provide goal oriented individual and family support, crisis intervention, conflict resolution and mediation.

Because club models vary, individual schedules will also vary. Individual hours will be set by supervisors in increments of 8 hours between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm. Exceptions will be rare and must be approved in writing.

Job Duties:
  • Create positive and supportive relationships: Build rapport with club members, identify and target areas of need within clubs based on meaningful relationships, consistently serve as a positive role model for youth.
  • Behavior interventions: Identify, assess, and intervene effectively with mental health symptoms and behaviors.
  • Create SEL program services: Create and adapt evidence-based programming to meet club members developmental needs.
  • Coaching and support: Provide insight and consultation to fellow Club staff members around working with challenging behavior and engaging Club members.
  • Flexibility in ever-changing settings: Provide support for club members in a variety of settings while utilizing an SEL framework.
  • Community resource networking: Collaborate with outside neighborhood and community agencies.
  • Case management: Maintain accurate detailed observation and progress records and complete necessary electronic data entry. Identifies trends in data to assist in collaborative service planning.
  • Assist with trainings and SEL staff development: Provide and assist with developing basic trainings and innovative materials, such as mandated reporting and behavioral intervention.

Requirements
  • Experience serving youth: At least two years of experience planning and
    implementing youth programs and developing prevention and intervention strategies targeting at-risk members and their families.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited college or university.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test that includes screening for marijuana, criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
  • The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities will be required regularly.
  • The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports, properly document programs, and utilize organizational data.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
