Qualifications:
- Experience Matters: Youll need a minimum 10 years of underwriting experience. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing risks and making informed decisions.
- Prior management experience is required as you will have several Underwriting Managers reporting to you
- Educational Background: A BA or BS degree, ideally in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting, will set you up for success in this role.
Responsibilities: Youll play a pivotal role in shaping our risk portfolio. Heres what youll be doing:
- Oversees the implementation of underwriting practices within a designated area, directing efforts to achieve underwriting objectives in specified business programs.
- Develops and executes sales budgets and targets for the region, including attainment of premium and loss ratio objectives, engagement in agency activities, and forecasting business growth.
- Assesses and guides the underwriting of complex or sizable risks requiring advanced technical expertise in product and industry knowledge.
- Supports the cultivation of productive agency relationships, which may involve identifying new agencies, managing appointments, fostering growth, optimizing profit sharing, and assessing agency performance.
