Business Development Representative - Chicago, IL Job Category: SALES Requisition Number: BUSIN001848 Posted: November 15, 2023 Closed: March 11, 2024 Full-Time Locations Home Office - Midwest Chicago, IL, USA Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: Build and manage relationships with End Users, Architect/Interior Designers, Flooring Contractors, and key distribution partners with the objective of establishing trust to build ongoing partnerships developing into sales. Identify new project opportunities using the influence of A&D firms, end users, and flooring contractors. Develop new prospects and maintain relationships with existing customers to increase territory market opportunities. Work with regional and national counterparts to identify and close cross-selling opportunities. Create and execute tactical sales-driving marketing campaigns, special events, and sponsorships that help increase brand awareness, build relationships, and achieve sales goals. Prepare accurate sales projections and provide forecast information for team planning purposes. Utilize CRM daily to manage pipeline, individual project updates, and key account information. Assist Management in establishing Annual / Quarterly / Monthly Strategy and Sales Plans. Assist Management in identification of product voids or improvements. Other duties as assigned. TRAVEL: Will require in-field travel of 75-80%, with travel/overnight stays 50% of that time. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Excellent communication and listening skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Strong presentation, networking, and negotiation skills. Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of people. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience. Experience working in an outside sales role calling on a varied client base. Flooring product knowledge preferred. Proven success selling to large corporate clients. Knowledge of specifications, design, and phases required. Strong understanding of construction, real estate, and job site conditions. Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record per AHF Products policy and proof of automobile insurance.
