Job Summary Nordson MCS seeks a Specialist II Purchasing to join our dynamic team in Dayton, OH. This role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strategic mindset to contribute to our manufacturing operations. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on factors such as cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability. Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to foster collaboration, improve performance, and ensure continuous supply. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for contracts, including pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and dispute resolution mechanisms. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as supplier disruptions, quality issues, and price fluctuations. Purchasing Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to track key performance indicators, identify trends, and inform purchasing decisions. Support inventory management activities by monitoring stock levels and placing replenishment orders as needed. Source and procure materials, components, and equipment in accordance with company requirements and purchasing policies. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or a related field within a manufacturing environment. Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of purchasing principles, practices, and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Detail-oriented and organized with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP preferred). Knowledge of supply chain management concepts and practices. Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
