What you'll do

We are seeking an AssociateDirector in Tumor Targeted Delivery (TTD) to develop a comprehensive strategy to discover new targets for ADCs, understand the role of targets in cancer biology and support novel ADC platform and project development. Working in partnership with the TTD team across the globe, lead the implementation of novel target biology and discovery efforts.

Responsibilities Lead a team focused on cancer biology-based target discovery for ADCs Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize targets, develop target identification and validation strategies Support project teams with early validation work and exploration of target biology Interface with Tumor Councils and strategy teams to provide scientific leadership and gain feedback for ADC development Lead internal and external research collaborations supporting target discovery and biology

Essential for the role PhD and/or MD with experience in drug development A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience In-depth knowledge of ADCs and oncology disease area biology (solid tumors); experience with both ADC and immune conjugates is desirable Ability to drive, manage, execute and deliver results for complex multi-functional projects Highly developed problem solving and risk management skills, and attention to detail Highly developed collaborative working skills Ability to act as an external ambassador and to influence external organisations to enhance the image and reputation of AstraZeneca Established ability to lead a team, setting goals and objectives, empower and develop team members and influence recruitment of high performing staff

Desirable for the role Experience in ADCs with different types of antibody formats, linker-payloads and conjugation chemistries
