This full-time, position requires a detail-oriented, organized professional to engage with conference & retreat customers and has prior experience working at a conference center or similar hospitality experience. The Conference Sales Representative is responsible for overseeing all aspects of new client outreach and negotiation process including developing new strategies and ensuring that clients receive exceptional service at every touch point with the company. Candidates should display confidence and professionalism, an eagerness to learn and grow personally, integrity that welcomes constructive criticism, and excellent communication skills suitable for a professional environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and negotiate 100 - 200 yearly contracts with new clients through cold calls, emails, and trade shows.
- Schedule calls, meetings, and tours with clients to address their needs and ensure any questions they have are adequately answered in a timely manner.
- Provide new clients with information about products, pricing or services that may be of interest to them based on their current needs or situation.
- Input and update new clients' contact information for marketing opportunities, logistical coordination, and billing needs.
- Manage client account balances by communicating payment deadlines, sending payment reminders, ensuring payments are made in a timely manner.
- Ensure that clients' contracts reflect agreeable language to both parties and interface with legal to address any issues as needed.
- Coordinate with the conference event services department to ensure that the Key Performance Indicators outlined in clients' agreements are met and/or
- Manage complete lifecycle of new client contracts including collection of contractual amounts up to 750 K - $1M in revenue per year.
- Complex calendar management, ensuring every Site Reservation Agreement accurately aligns with the Utilization calendar regarding check in/check-out
- Possesses high attention to detail and excellent time management
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 2 years with related experience in account management & sales is preferred.
- Ability to solve problems in a calculated manner, including identifying and defining underlying issues.
- Understands how to exercise verbal and non-verbal listening skills to engage in a productive dialogue with clients to understand their needs.
- Demonstrated ability to own the customer relationship and encourage prompt resolution of customer issues and ensure high levels of customer
- A self-starter who is client-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of contract management, account receivables, and billing cycles is desired.

Pali is home to: Pali Adventures overnight sleep away camp, Pali Institute Outdoor Education program and Pali Retreat, a mountain retreat and conference center.

Job Type:
Full-time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm; Occasional weekend availability for site tours and trade show events as needed.
Compensation:
Base rate plus commission.
Hourly:$18.00-$21.00 an hour based on experience.
