Join our team and let's continue making chocolate lovers happy A day in the life...As a 2nd shift Machinist, have a direct role in the chocolate production process from beginning to end. You will be responsible for ensuring each piece of candy that comes out of our facility is "Only the Finest" quality that our customer has grown to expect.Typical Hours: Monday-Thursday 3:45pm-2:15amWhat you will be doing...Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment.Must be able to read and understand the specifications or blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and other equipment information to complete the project. Also, must be able to fix broken parts and carry out the same machining operations that were required to produce the original piece.Operates and maintains milling machines, grinders, and lathes, equipment and tools in a safe and proficient manner according to guidelines, standards and instructions.Machines material by cutting, drilling, boring, turning, milling, planning, and grinding.Maintenance machinists make new or fix existing parts for machinery. Finishes and assembles parts by hand and uses scribers, gauges, and other instruments to achieve accuracy.Remains up to date on information about new technology in materials, methods and equipment.Perform clean-ups as required.Must be able to use/operate AutoCAD.Conform to rules.Maybe assigned other duties by plant management as required.Do you have what it takes? (Basic Qualifications)Previous industrial maintenance experience.Must be 18 years or older.Must be able to read and write in English.Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office products. (email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Must have ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb and lift to meet cleaning requirements.Must have good hand-eye coordination and possess motor skills enabling mobility and quick reflexes.Must have visual/hearing ability sufficient to recognize or detect warning devices/signs.Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for the duration of a 10-hour shift.3 Years of experience operating machinery3 Years of experience working in a Food Manufacturing EnvironmentBe able to use Fusion 360 as well as Auto CadBe able to weld Mig and TigDo you stand above the rest?(Preferred Qualifications)At least 2 years' experience in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Excel, Power Point)Clean driving record.Ability to follow directions and work independently.What it's like at the Russell Stover PlantsSafety. We also go through an in-depth Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training on your first day and continue to share safety tips daily.Surroundings. You'll be working around different machines - Schubert's, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy banks/steels.Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders, and routinely lift 50 lbs.Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently around 63°F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role.Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you may end your day smelling like chocolateDress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and in guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required.
