Nurtur Aveda is looking for a Financial Aid Counselor to join our team In this role, you'll work closely with students to identify and develop a financial plan that'll support them along their educational journey.

Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide general support to prospective students by guiding them through the Institutes financial aid process and facilitating an informed and seamless enrollment experience.

Responsibilities: The team member in this position must exhibit certain characteristics and perform specific duties during their daily or weekly routine. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Uphold the Nurtur Core Values and Behaviors and Aveda Success Factors.

Provide comprehensive one-on-one counseling to prospective students, ensuring that a students Title IV funding plan is accurate and consistent with the students and/or parents financial eligibility.

Assist prospective students in navigating and completing the Institutes financial aid process, requirements, and available payment and funding options.

Serve as a subject matter expert on financial aid programs, scholarship opportunities, and other financial assistance resources available to students.

Ability to support team members in completing prospective students FAFSAs and ISIR corrections.

Stay informed about changes in financial aid regulations, policies, and industry trends to provide accurate and up-to-date information.

Actively participate in daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings and huddles.

Maintain a meticulous and up-to-date Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure accurate records that are consistent with all policies and training and efficient communication with potential students.

Collaborate with the Admissions and Financial Aid Team to ensure annual enrollment goals are achieved.

Stay current on institute policies and processes, industry growth and change, and program opportunities.

Handle escalated challenges from prospective students professionally and efficiently, ensuring positive resolution.

Meet and exceed performance goals established by the Director of Business Operations.

Communicate effectively and consistently with the Department Lead and Director of Business Operations.

Performs duties as assigned and/or required to meet business needs.

Abides by all other Nurtur policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Member Handbook and Code of Conduct.

Minimum Requirements: The team member in this position must exhibit certain educational and experiential requirements, including:

Bachelors degree; Masters preferred.

Prior work experience in Financial Aid, Collections, or Sales.

Exhibit self-direction, initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Demonstrate extreme professionalism and confidentiality in manner, dress, and conduct.

Bonus Points:

FAFSA Verification Specialists often come from varied and diverse backgrounds. Experience working with Salesforce, Avochato, or similar texting and dialing software is a plus.

Travel Requirements: The team member in this position must be able to travel locally to events and for out-of-state training and Institute visits as necessary.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The team member in this position will be expected to work in an office environment in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Sit at a desk with a computer for up to eight (8) hours per day.

Use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms.

Walk, sit, stand, balance, stoop, speak, and hear.

Tolerate a minimal to moderate noise level typical of a corporate office setting.
