DescriptionSUMMARY OF POSITIONResponsible for performing a variety of functions in the Plant and Laboratory to locate, report and initiate action to correct any factors that affect product quality, plant sanitation and housekeeping.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to:QA SupervisorSupervises: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or equivalentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConducts daily finished product grading per specifications:- Notifies Production when product does not meet specification.- Maintains a positive working relationship with Production and the Warehouse.Monitors/documents critical control points (blanching, metal detection, pH) at prescribed frequencies based on the current HACCP plan for the product being produced, Conducts raw material raw grade inspections as required by the specifications. Conducts incoming ingredients and packaging material inspections for possible contamination and maintains adequate records as required. Collects samples during production, as required, for micro testing, cutting bees, retention samples or outside customers. Works closely with USDA Inspectors and customer representatives, as required. Becomes familiar with food safety, quality and procedural requirements of customers, USDA grade standards, and Hanover's specifications. Responsible for the execution of food safety, legality, and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMPS's, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc. Maintains good housekeeping and general appearance of the Laboratory. Adheres to common safety practices and procedures. Performs other assignments as required by the Quality Assurance Manager and/or Supervisor. Conducts pre-op inspections to evaluate sanitary conditions of equipment and environment.
