Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a solid highway construction and design background. This role is integral to our collaborative team, working closely with clients, vendors, project managers, project coordinators, superintendents, estimators, and accounting. Under the direct supervision of the project manager, the Project Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the project manager and superintendents, fostering a sense of teamwork and shared responsibility.

Essential Responsibilities and **

Responsible for coordinating various project tasks, including reporting, scheduling, pricing, purchasing or leasing construction materials and equipment, job supplies, replacement and repair parts, and permanent facility equipment and materials. The essential duties and responsibilities *

• Assists Project Superintendents

• Assisting in public relations, claims, subcontractor back charges, and force account work

• Assisting in ensuring the project’s contractor performance rating above 90 percent

• Processing all documents required to start the project as outlined in the checklist.

• Sub-Contractor Coordination

• Update and maintain C.P.M. under the direction of P.M.

• Monthly schedule distribution to field and subcontractors.

• Schedule surveys and inspections for field operations.

• Update and maintain as-built drawings if required.

• Tracking quantities to ensure accurate payment by the Owner.

• Managing Blue Stakes.

• Reviewing budgets and adjusting job costing.

• Managing change order correspondence and tracking

• Assists and ensures timely and accurate Project closeouts

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree (B.A, P.E.) from a four-year College, technical school, or university in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

• We also value practical experience, so up to two years of related experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 1-3 years of project engineer experience in heavy civil / highway construction.

• A minimum of 1-3 years of bridge construction experience

• A minimum of 1-3 years of working on major highway projects covering bridges, concrete paving, and heavy traffic.

• Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures about highway construction.

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and lead through influence – to drive change and deliver positive outcomes

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS [**** bold skills and certification are required]

A minimum of 1-3 years of bridge construction experience

A minimum of 1-3 years of working on major highway projects covering bridges, concrete paving,
