The Materials Engineer will primarily work to develop products and components related to RBC self-lubricating liner products and tribological coatings where utilization of materials knowledge is essential. Additional areas of work and development may include greases and oils, bearing seals, cleaning and plating baths, as well as other special processes.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:Work with a team of professionals to development new, engineered products and processes for RBC Bearings.Provide support on new and existing RBC special processes.Perform analytical analyses of existing and newly developed products and processing.Attendance at work is an essential function of the jobEDUCATION:Bachelors of Science Degree in Materials, Chemical Engineering or similar degree.EXPERIENCE:A minimum of two years' experience in a development environment preferred.Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.Manufacturing or development of products utilizing thermosetting resins, thermoplastics or elastomers.Manufacturing and testing of composite systems and their components.Knowledge of plating principles and practices preferred.Organic material properties understanding and classification.Analytical chemistry knowledge and experience, especially with FTIR, DSC, TGA, and Rheometry.SKILLS:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong project management and problem identification / solving skills.Able to manage multiple projects effectively.Excellent follow through on projects and ideas.RBC Bearings is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
