Great American P&C IT Services is currently seeking an Emerging Technology (ET) Product Manager to join an evolving ET Organization This is a rare opportunity to get into a group on the "ground floor" and help shape the way GAI delivers cutting edge technology solutions to our business units. The ET Product Manager is a senior member of the ET team, responsible for orchestrating emerging technology opportunities through a product backlog. You will be an ET Champion, interacting with GAI business units to solicit for potential opportunities, up front requirements/analysis and value to ensure alignment as work is getting ready for teams. While this role is primarily execution focused, there will be a strategic component to help define & influence where "the puck is going" as it pertains to the latest technology. You will partner closely with the ET Lead and Chief Technology Office (CTO), staying current on ET industry trends like AI/ML & Cognitive tech, Computer Vision, Hyperautomation, Smart Contracts, IoT, Chatbots and many more - the sky is the limit

The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to:
  • Define and drive business priorities and project deliverables in alignment with business scope
  • Own our internal Kanban process, ensuring Epics are flowing through the system appropriately
  • Act as content authority for their Agile team regarding "what gets built"
  • Relentlessly engage with business unit and functional partners and other stakeholders that represent the opportunity vision and business needs
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the Agile team, responding to changing business needs with an Agile mindset, communicating pivots appropriately
  • Provide guidance to the team to ensure what is being developed satisfies the needs of the business.
  • Ensure ET Product Owner(s) understanding of business objectives is strong
  • Determine how the business needs will be satisfied via design, build and test by the Execution Team
  • Escalate business issues and questions for decision making to appropriate stakeholders
  • Ensure overall delivery of business value and business adoption of solutions
  • Exercises judgment in planning and latitude in determining objectives of assignments
  • Make decisions that integrate business goals/objectives aligned with project
  • Partner closely with ET Product Owners and business areas to facilitate process improvement exercises, engaging external support when required
  • Educate business partners and business unit leads on Emerging Technology capabilities and "fit for purpose" solutions
  • Clearly articulate the value proposition of ET, establishing a clear definition of done and engaging ePMO, internal IT partners when ready for Pilot & Scale
Qualifications:
  • Experience leading the work of others and providing coaching and mentorship
  • 5+ years hands on software delivery experience
  • Demonstrated success partnering with business SMEs and Leadership
  • Working knowledge of Agile Frameworks, preferably Scrum and/or SAFe
  • Ability to gain broad understanding of overall software delivery roadmaps and related strategies
  • Experience with small to large projects of varying complexity
  • Genuine curiosity and passion for all things technology in order to apply the industry trends into an Enterprise environment
  • Experience with product owning one or more projects
  • Ability to influence and foster buy in at all levels
Strong communication skills: verbal, written, listening to various levels across the organization
