Intake & Engagement Specialist - Full Time

As our Intake & Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the intake process for new participants interested in and/or referred to SouthLight services. This position is a valuable first point of contact, a primary source of support and education, and helps ensure a full understanding and navigation of SouthLight's life saving services.

The Intake & Engagement Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to conducting initial intake, completing all necessary paperwork and documentation, verifying insurance and coordinating with referral sources. This position is also responsible for supporting participants with signing required consents and setting up participants on telehealth appointments when necessary.

Schedule

The following shifts are available:

1) Mon - Thurs, 6am - 4pm

2) Mon - Thurs, 8am - 6pm

3) Tues - Fri, 6am - 4pm

4) Tues - Fri, 8am - 6pm

Pay

Starting at $18.00 per hour.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $300 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays.

Job Responsibilities of an Intake & Engagement Specialist
  • Conduct intake screenings for new participants to determine needs and eligibility for individuals wanting to access SouthLight services
  • Review and complete appropriate consent forms and documentation with participants as needed
  • Utilize electronic medical record to assist participants, medical providers and clinical staff with scheduled appointments
  • Manage inquiries and referrals for various SouthLight outpatient services received by telephone, email, website, fax, and by mail in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work closely with medical providers and clinical staff to ensure information received is accurate, timely, and moved through the authorization process efficiently
  • Prepare telehealth rooms and equipment prior to scheduled appointments, make sure successful video connection has been made and stand by during consult to provide technical assistance when necessary
  • Provide general administrative support for the program including filing, typing, copying, data entry and faxing in a prompt, efficient and cooperative manner
  • Familiarity with payor sources, required documentation and entering of information to ensure authorization approvals

Qualifications of an Intake & Engagement Specialist

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of HS diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year of experience in front office, customer service or related field. Behavioral health experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, positive attitude and ability to be flexible and embrace change in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to strong customer service focus rooted in empathy and connection with participants
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to handle and manage high volume of inquires
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Comfortable with MS Office Suite, electronic medical records system, and windows-based applications
