The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner.
Individuals must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively and be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment
**Requirements**
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment according to restaurants standardized recipes.
Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Portion food products prior to cooking and adhere to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Consistently maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saut burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sauting or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes according to CLAA set guidelines for service
Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
Adhere to all health standards set forth by both state and federal authorities
Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings.
Be available for shift coverage if someone does not show or calls in sick.
**Essential Physical Requirements**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, stretch, twist and climb. The employee is required to stand, kneel and walk for extensive periods of time without breaks during busy times. In addition, the employee will need to be able to use their hands/fingers to handle and feel and reach with hands and arms. Lifting and/or moving up to 50lbs with assistance are required.
