Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides nursing services in clinics and home settings, making referrals to other resources as needed, and following up as needed. Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of clients across the age spectrum. Teaches individuals and groups in health promotion and disease prevention. Creates charts and documents recording details of client visits; manages patient case load; maintains file and filing system. Performs administrative duties, including data collection and entry and timely response to phone calls and emails. Refers clients to other community resources; works with other providers to reduce barriers to care for the community. Participates in health clinics and educational programs with clients as required. Participates in team responses as required for epidemiological and all hazards’ situations. Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Prior experience in public health nursing or related field preferred Required Licenses and Certifications: Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record. State of Wyoming Nursing License. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification. Required Knowledge of: Federal, state, and local laws pertaining to health care and public health. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) laws and regulations. Practices, principles and methods of professional nursing. Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions. Principles and procedures of recordkeeping, reporting and retention. Required Skills in: Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software and some specialized software; operating standard office equipment. Providing professional nursing and health care services. Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely. Physical Demands/Work Environment: Work is performed in County clinics as well as in patient homes; may be exposed to adverse conditions and weather during home visits. This position has an extreme exposure risk to biohazards associated with blood borne and airborne pathogens; the use of proper protective equipment and clothing is required.
