Purpose of the Role

The HR Administrator is responsible for application deployment including configuring, and supporting user application software, while also resolving routine to complex problems with system hardware and software. This role will have production responsibility for critical applications, including the company Human Capital Management system. The HR Administrator will work with managers and key stakeholders to ensure overall quality and sustainability of business processes, propose solutions-based business requirements and act as a business analyst liaison between the Payroll and People Services departments and the IT department. The position is based out of the Saunders headquarters in the DTC area and a hybrid schedule is available.

Functions / Duties

  • Develop and maintain partnerships across business areas with leaders and department heads
  • Evaluate HR systems to identify points of improvement and implement process improvements and policy changes to improve efficiency and the user experience
  • Monitor, tune, diagnose, and resolve operating system, application, and database problems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain applications and integrations
  • Develop, test, and implement scripts to automate common functions or system operations
  • Consult with users to identify existing system problems then evaluate and recommend various software and hardware solutions to meet user needs
  • Design and develop migration scripts, implement monitoring and alerts
  • Manage permissions and access provisioning on an application level, system level, data management, and middleware
  • Configure monitoring systems to proactively ensure application performance
  • Address reporting, analytics and dashboard needs for Payroll, People Services Operations, Talent Management, Benefits Administration and the Saunders LMS using various embedded reporting tools or 3rd party tools
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested to include, but not limited to:
  • Test scripting, requirements gathering, and process documentation
  • Vendor support management for issues and enhancements
  • Special projects to evaluate and implement new technologies

  • Education preference: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field
  • Experience requirement: 2 years of professional Information Technology experience installing, maintaining, and/or modifying application software, operating system and/or network operating system software, preferably within the Construction Industry
  • Experience supporting Human Capital Management system, preferably in the construction industry
  • Ability to lead internal customers through the SDLC process from problem definition, requirements gathering, design, testing and implementation
  • Quick learner - The ability to identify the root cause of issues, and recommend viable solutions for our customers will be key qualities to success in this position
  • Project management experience
  • Experience configuring workflows
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Physical Demands

The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position:
  • Spends approximately 80% of the time sitting, and 20% of the time either standing or walking while on the job.
  • Occasionally* lifts up to 15 lbs, when moving project binders, office supplies or files, and may stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance while performing these same functions.
  • Occasionally required to climb, crawl, stoop and negotiate ladders, stairs or other routes at and within project sites in order to fulfill duties.
  • Constantly uses verbal and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as E-Mail, telephone and radio.
  • Constantly employs eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery such as computer keyboard.
  • Constantly utilizes full scope of visual capacity to travel to project sites and observe/verify project progress in addition to operating automated office equipment.
