We are looking for an experienced, talented and compassionate **RN Education Specialist**

to work with our education team to train entry-level nurses with less than 1 year of RN experience. This is an exciting new position designed to aid in our ability to serve a growing patient census. This is a 5-day, 40 hour per week position with a Monday-Friday schedule. Occasional weekends may be required to meet training needs. The RN Education Specialist will work under the supervision of the Home Health Nurse Clinical Educator to train and support entry-level nurses including new graduates or nurses with less than 1 year of experience to become independent and proficient nurse case managers serving the Agency's home health patient population. This position will carry a small patient caseload for teaching purposes and will also support the Education Department in clinical educational initiatives. **Key Responsibilities:** * Directly precept new nurses during a 1-year orientation/residence program following all clinical guidelines and best practices * Provide training and education using various methods such as live classes, virtual online learning and on-site field demonstrations with patients in their homes * Manage a limited patient caseload that is based on the needs of the resident/trainee and where they are at in their training. Caseload will be maintained during times when not actively orienting a resident to maintain clinical skill and proficiency * Socialize preceptee to the Agency, their team, and their interdisciplinary team pod * Complete co-visits with the preceptee to oversee their performance or allow them to observe your skills * Assesses competency, maintains records, skills checklists and progress meeting notes. Meets daily with preceptees to set expectations, provide feedback and address questions or concerns ensuring that issues are addressed immediately. Keeps education team and clinical managers up to date on progress of all preceptees * Assists education department with competency assessment visits, skills fairs, development of materials and teaching material to staff * Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws as well as adherence to NVNA compliance policies **Skills & Abilities:** * Desire and willingness to share knowledge and expertise and to educate others. Displays high level of clinical competency and stays current with clinical technology * Fluency with Medicare regulations and legislation as it applies to home health care * Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence and ability to give and receive feedback with tact and sensitivity. Comfort with public speaking and presenting and teaching to groups in person or via video conference * Superb listener, avoids interrupting, takes the time to absorb, understand, respond and retain information being shared * Demonstrates NVNA's core values of leadership, high quality care, integrity, professional development, respect, caring, excellent customer service, promotion of well-being. **Experience & Education:** * Current MA Professional License in good standing * Registered Nurse, BSN preferred * 3+ years of recent home care case management experience required * Experience as a clinical preceptor preferred * OASIS competence required **VACCINATION FOR COVID-19 IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT AT NVNA AND HOSPICE.
