Description

The prestigious New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier private clubs, founded in 1868 with facilities on Central Park South in Manhattan and Pelham Manor, NY, is seeking a temporary Athletic Gym Porter. The Athletic Gym Porter is responsible for maintaining clean athletic facilities within the club's eight athletic floors. The ideal candidate must be able to clean various areas with the use of brooms, push brooms, mop and ringer bucket, vacuuming, shampoo machines, use of high speed buffing floor machines, floor stripping machines, leaf blowers. Additionally, Athletic Gym Porter is responsible for wiping down surfaces and disinfecting surfaces by using cleaning solutions and chemicals including but not limited to including bleach, carpet stain remover, floor stripper, brass cleaner, disinfectant spray, floor cleaning solution. Athletic Gym Porter is also expected to participate in set up and break down of athletic and banquet events. Candidate must be able to stand and walk for long hours during a 7 hour shift and must be to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of all Athletic facilities including but not limited to mopping, sweeping, wiping surfaces, dusting, vacuuming, organizing, sanitizing
  • Must arrange all equipment storage areas neatly, inventoried and organized at all times.
  • Clean, store, and secure athletic cleaning equipment
  • Inspects each athletic room prior to, and during breaks to ensure that all requirements reflected on the daily task lists are met
  • Ensuring a 'Member Ready' appearance at all times
  • Supports a strong commitment to providing excellent service and working as a team.
  • Regularly inventory and maintain all related equipment
  • Continuously strive for complete members/guests' satisfaction - including cooperating with last minute changes/additions.
  • Follow diagrams and event orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all athletic space
