Position Description: Our Michigan office is currently seeking an HR Coordinator for its expanding HR team. This position directly supports the HR Director. May require occasional travel and may involve flexible working hours to support HR initiatives.

Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive team-player who seeks to expand their HR knowledge and competencies.

Compensation: The pay rate for this position generally ranges between $54,000 and $65,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate pursuant to pay transparency laws. Actual pay rates will be based on various factors, including company, education level, and candidate qualifications.

Job Description:

The HR Coordinator will support our HR Director in fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and engaging workplace. This role focuses on various HR functions including: Performance Management, Rewards and Recognition, Employee Engagement, and Compliance. This position helps administer key HR programs and processes, ensuring smooth and effective HR operations that align with our organization goals.

Responsibilities:

Performance Management
  • Administer performance management program to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Reward & Recognition
  • Support the administration of the variable compensation program.
  • Collaborate with HR Director to develop and implement employee recognition initiatives that align with company values and objectives.
Employee Engagement
  • Assist with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, coordinate events, and gather feedback on DEI efforts.
  • Support employee relations efforts by providing initial support for inquiries and maintaining accurate documentation of employee interactions.
  • Administer engagement survey, compile results, and assist with follow-up action plans to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Coordinate exit interviews, track key insights, and prepare reports for continuous improvement in employee engagement and retention.
Compliance
  • Help maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, ensuring alignment with current laws and best practices.
  • Ensure that HR processes are consistently documented and followed, identifying areas for process improvements as needed.
  • Support compliance efforts by maintaining accurate records, assisting in audits, and ensuring the confidentiality of employee information.
  • Coordinate the training modules and worksite inspections for harassment prevention and workplace violence prevention initiatives.
Employee Communication
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Facilitate distribution of salary increase, promotion, and incentive compensation letters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 2 years work experience in a Human Resources Department
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure to HRIS data entry and reporting
  • High level of interpersonal skills with ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations at all levels in the company with poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • Strong organization skills, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
