Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Financial Management and Oversight
- Demonstrate capability to provide high level skills in managing the financial processes and procedures of the organization and make sound recommendations to the DOF and the Board Finance & Audit Committees. Oversee all financial and business planning activities including;
- Lead financial planning including execution of annual budget and meeting strategic business goals. Review and analyze financial reports and provide forecasting and budget projections
- Establish and maintain controls and safeguards for receipts of revenue, costs and actual expenditures
- Manage cash flow forecasting, assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations
- Routinely analyze financial data and prepare monthly financial statements for the finance committee and department leaders in an accurate and timely manner
- Direct all activities relative to accounts payable /receivable as well as tuition collections
- Provide comprehensive oversight and monitoring of organization's financial operations including managing the annual audit
- Develop and direct execution of operations policies and procedures
- Direct organization's operations to meet budget and other organizational goals
- Oversee all accounting functions including those necessary for auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, capital asset, property management and payroll in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, policies and procedures, and all other applicable rules and guidelines.
- Oversee all financial, project/program and grant accounting to ensure that all expenditures are aligned with grant and program budgets through the grant/fund period; collate financial reporting materials for government, corporate and foundation grants
- Assist with the management of Grants and contacts by negotiating agreement terms that reflect the needs of UICS, coordinate with legal advisors to finalize agreement terms; monitor progress of agreements and maintain agreement documentation to ensure fulfillment of agreement terms including receipt and expenditure of funds.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- A CPA is required.
- Above average leadership skills, knowledge and qualities.
- At least eight years-experience in a non-profit business
- Track record of achieving results in program outcomes.
- Strong financial management and operations management.
- Supervises employees involved in finance and operations.
