Brief Description:
Under minimal direction, serves as the Electrical Design Lead to engineering departments, including water/ wastewater, gas utility, and land development Departments. Candidate shall have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of applicable local, county, and state rules, regulations and industry best practices and standards. Familiarity with public bidding procedures and Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 5:34) is necessary. Duties include the development of standard professional electrical engineering design deliverables including performing engineering calculations, engineered drawings and documents, equipment specifications, construction support, functional checkout support, and system commissioning support. Must have proven ability to organize and prioritize assigned work and develop effective work methods. The successful candidate will be a critical team member on complex design projects, and will demonstrate excellent leadership and mentoring skills to ensure efficient project delivery and promote a positive constructive work culture. Project Management and communication skills are critical to the successful integration to our team.
Examples of work/duties and desired outcomes:
Actively manages technical project components as well as schedule and budget review. Serves as the technical client liaison to bring the technical project components and scope of work to successful completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications, and plan preparation to ensure efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
Perform load calculations, circuit and conductor sizing calculations, protective device coordination studies, Arc Flash calculations, etc.
Complete power distribution plan designs, single-line drawings, grounding plans, panel schedules, cable schedules, cable tray layouts, lighting plans, control narratives, control schematics, interconnect diagrams, heat trace drawings, etc.
Develop equipment data sheets, bill of materials, submittal reviews and approvals, etc.
Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by design staff. Supervises and mentors design team to overall project objectives.
Develops innovative project approach and assists in the organization and preparation of proposals.
Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization and projects.
Develops internal standards and guidelines.
Responsible for maintaining licensure and keeping up with industry standards and software.

Possess a valid driver’s license.
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate area of study – Electrical Engineering.
PE License.
10+ Years of related experience.
Experience with:
High voltage
AutoCAD and REVIT
Arc Flash, ETAP, and SKM
Substations, power grid, and backup power
Switchgears, motoes, combustion engines, and turbines
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
