At Webster Dental Care, we pursue excellence through continuing education, personal and team growth, and mastering leading-edge technology.Position: Sterilization Assistant (SA)Reports to: Practice ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptDate: November 2023Core CompetenciesExceptional personal and professional patient welfareEffective Interpersonal communicationAccurate supply care and managementRoles and ResponsibilitiesThe Sterilization Assistant (SA) will provide support to Dentists and Dental Assistants by completing the necessary equipment sterilization work so the patients are efficiently cared for. Duties include, but are not limited to:Sterilization of instrumentsMaintenance of sterilization units, and inventoryAssist with data entry pertaining to supplies used in dental clinicResponsible for inventory data used to maintain supplies in the dental clinicParticipate in instrument, equipment and supply management Clean, disinfect, sterilize, package and restock instruments, supplies and equipmentClean and lubricate dental hand pieces/accessories, instrument cassettes, and bur blocksIdentify instrumentation and monitor all cassettes for completeness of contentPerform weekly maintenance on all sterilization equipmentGenerate re-order list of clinic materialsUtilize aseptic techniques when handling instruments, equipment and suppliesTrack, inventory and dispense dental instruments, supplies and equipmentMaintain the organization, cleanliness and general appearance of the sterilizing rooms and their related storage facilitiesRequirementsRequired Qualifications and SkillsH.S. Diploma or EquivalentAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceWilling to serve the Practice with a flexible schedulePhysical DemandsAbility to continuously sit, stand or walk for extended periodsAbility to wear a facemask for long durationsWork EnvironmentWork will be completed at a dental practice
