OVERVIEW:

As the Accountant, your duties include handling journal entries, aiding in monthly closures, compiling monthly internal reports, analyzing expenses, and managing the general and fixed asset ledgers, in addition to other reporting obligations. You will be a part of the Finance Team reporting to the VP of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate fully in each monthly close-out
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries
  • Prepare monthly operations analysis & reporting
  • Maintain general and fixed asset ledgers
  • General bookkeeping skills, including data entry, check batching, issuing checks
  • Prepare rolling forecast
  • Process accounts receivable (A/R) and revenue collection functions, including preparing, printing, and posting invoices, following up on outstanding invoices and administering collection agency contract
  • Monitor accounts to ensure that payments are up to date
  • Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints
  • Check figures, postings, and documents to ensure that they are complete, correct, mathematically accurate, and properly coded
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate processing of accounts in compliance with appropriate policies and procedures, with correct application of taxes
  • Support the Senior Accountant as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED and 3 to 5 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Currently pursuing or recently obtained a degree
  • Microsoft Office proficient (especially Excel)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Planning skills and must be very detailed oriented
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred
