Communication with physicians and providers, the Executive Committee, and senior leadership to report on department metrics and initiatives to occur regularly. The successful candidate will understand organizational dynamics and balance the competing priorities of all invested parties in the process to drive the team’s success. This position will be tasked with identifying opportunities to improve the revenue cycle process from initial patient registration through denials and balance collection, navigating matrixed reporting structures and complex interdepartmental dynamics to maximize the revenue outcomes of the enterprise. KNOWLEDGE General: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of computer applications including windows-based applications and web-based EMR. o Athena EMR experience a plus. Knowledge of telephone and fax systems. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Role Specific: Advanced understanding of the revenue cycle process, payor regulations, and collections. Knowledge and billing and coding compliance. Knowledge of healthcare setting, with orthopedic experience a plus. SKILLS Skill in using computer programs and applications. Demonstrates familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Skill in producing reports, graphs, slides and other metrics for distribution at various levels in the organization. Skill in problem-solving. Skill in handling large volumes of data. Skill in communicating via telephone and writing. Ability to tailor communication style and level of detail to the audience. Professional presentation of self in all encounters. Skill in prioritizing work duties. Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills, communicates well and utilizes excellent listening skills and telephone etiquette. Dedicated attention to detail. Adept mentoring and coaching skillset, supporting the team that reports up to this role and developing their skills and leadership. ABILITIES Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
