Description

Key Responsibilities of a Construction Chief Estimator include:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements thoroughly.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations to assess site conditions, logistics, and potential challenges.
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools to prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather relevant information and insights.
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor and subcontractor bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and presentations for clients, highlighting cost breakdowns, value engineering opportunities, and project timelines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to enhance estimating accuracy and competitiveness.

Profile

The Successful Construction Chief Estimator will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of successfully bidding and winning projects across various markets.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, RSMeans) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
