Energy Accounting plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost recovery from customers. The team collaborates with various colleagues across PG&E to understand their programs and ensure proper cost tracking in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Position SummaryResponsible for overseeing regulatory accounting functions for PG&E Utility. Ensures timely and accurate financial data delivery to facilitate strategic decision-making and compliance with financial reporting standards.
This role is hybrid, with the possibility of working remotely most days and attending in-person meetings at the Oakland office as needed.
Salary InformationThe estimated salary range for this role in the Bay Area is between $126,000.00 and $200,000.00.
Job Responsibilities- Contribute to the design and analysis of research objectives related to accounting issues.
- Develop and improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback to direct reports to drive performance.
- Identify and address accounting issues and implement process enhancements.
- Manage month-end closing procedures, process improvement projects, and documentation for filings.
- Interpret data for stakeholders, prepare variance analysis, and collaborate with senior management.
- Review policies, reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
- Support strategic planning and decision-making through collaboration with various functions.
- Provide guidance on regulatory directives from regulatory commissions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 7 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience in management
Desired Qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in consulting with employees at all levels
- CPA certification
