Patient Service Representative
Contract to hire: Most likely to convert to full-time
Location: Georgetown, DE - onsite
Job Summary: Supports medical office operations by handling clerical and reception duties, allowing medical staff to focus on patient care.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage patient data in EMR, including personal, insurance, and medical history.
- Operate office equipment (computers, fax, copiers).
- Answer calls, greet patients, schedule appointments or referrals.
- Prepare referral, lab, and x-ray documents.
- Maintain a calm reception area and assist with patient concerns or emergencies.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians on patient communication.
- Update patient records and collect payments/copays.
- Open and close the reception area, ensuring cleanliness.
- Adhere to policies and maintain patient confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years of medical clerical experience or completion of a medical secretarial program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; EMR experience preferred.
