Marketing Product Specialist Minneapolis, Minnesota The GI Product Specialist reports directly to the Director of Product Management (USCA) and has overall responsibility for supporting and assisting the Product Management functions in Powder, Liquid, and E-Coat. The GI Product Specialist will assist the Product Managers in optimizing the GI USCA product portfolio in terms of content and profitability. The incumbent will assist in the evaluation, planning, and optimization of all GI Industrial Market portfolios including: Finished goods SKU optimization Raw material count optimization Product-driven cost savings initiatives Manufacturing capacity/capability evaluations Key Responsibilities: Manage the delivery of accurate product management information. Develop reports, update and maintain accuracy of raw material consolidation, platform SKU optimization, formula cost savings, and new product development sales tracking. Support raw material consolidation. Conduct financial analysis of specific SKU consolidation. Write LWR's for the lab to complete the consolidation work. Assist in the prioritization of raw material consolidation projects in the lab. Track financial impact of completed projects. Assist with implementation of new raw material changes with Sales/Service reps. Provide product portfolio analysis and optimization support. Assist in managing platform analysis projects. Conduct financial analysis of specific platform optimization projects and track impact upon completion. Assist with the execution of platform optimization with the sales and service teams. Work with the Business Segment Leaders to convert overall segment demand into product demand for demand planning. Manage PIMS Process for Liquid and Powder. Create all necessary liquid/Powder new product SKUs in PIM and follow through until completion. Review/approve all SKUs created by Regional labs for accuracy. Answer customer, sales, and service product questions from the Sherwin Williams hotline. Develop and update product data sheets. Assist in preparation of data pages for new products. Update current data pages to current specifications and/or changes. Work with Marketing Specialist and Regulatory Services to update new and existing data pages. Formal Education: Required: BA/BS in business or chemistry or other applicable discipline. Preferred: Knowledge & Experience: Required: 3-5 years' experience in marketing, sales, business support, or R&D in applicable market. Critical thinking for complex business challenges, with an ability to create sustainable processes. Strong communication skills to articulate issues, recommendations, and requirements to other functional partners. Demonstrated use of data, analysis, and market knowledge in previous positions. Demonstrated thoroughness and follow-through in previous positions. Persuasive champion for owned solutions and projects capable of generating energy and excitement in coworkers.
