Senior Underwriter

Senior Underwriter - Commercial Combined and Property Owners Our client is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join their established Commercial team and to focus on growing accounts with key strategic partners. The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and also from the Manchester office. Your role: Support profitable development of the Mid-Market Commercial Combined and Property Owners account by underwriting bespoke commercial risks. Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with a panel of Network brokers as their nominated underwriter. Develop and support the commercial account by engaging and encouraging new and existing relationships with brokers, Prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team optimising sales and retention. Take ownership of large & complex cases and work proactively with the broker to negotiate the right outcome. Maintain and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the commercial underwriting and broking market. Be a strong referral point for your team, providing technical assistance and guidance to junior colleagues. Your experience: Experience in underwriting and trading mid-market Commercial Combined and Property Owners broker market. Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively influence key stakeholders. Demonstrate ability to negotiate and influence through use of effective trading skills. Motivated, driven and adapts to change positively displaying a can do attitude. Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work cooperatively with others. A team player, who is highly collaborative, empowering, and good at establishing and maintaining relationships with brokers and other internal stakeholders. You should have a strong customer service ethos, continuously and proactively looking to improve the quality of service provided to all customers.
