DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an intern, you will collaborate with veterinary pathologists in the postmortem examination room and at the multi-headed microscope, engaging in a variety of specialized tasks. Your responsibilities may encompass observing and assisting during necropsies, preparing and delivering case presentations to the laboratory, examining microscopic slides alongside a pathologist, and participating in practice examinations. Beyond these pathology duties, the role will also involve supporting various other laboratory functions, ensuring a well-rounded experience in the field.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirements:
  • Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree program or advanced degree program in: one of the following majors:
    • Pre-Veterinary Medicine
    • Biology
    • Environmental Science
An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.
Good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher). Freshman year completed Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must possess a valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
