ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrimarily answer incoming phone calls for multiple Specialty practicesRedirect calls for Primary Care when neededSchedule routine and follow-up patient appointmentsReschedule or cancel appointments as neededConfirm future appointmentsAssist patients in reaching a clinician for their medical concerns and/or requesting a sick visit using a designated screening tool, including patients with urgent/critical medical concernsAssist patients with prescription refill requestsAssist patients with referral requestsProvide general practice information for patients as neededResponds to all patient and external customer requests via incoming phone call according to established processes and protocols and within established quality and performance metrics.Acts as a champion of the patient experience by striving for first call resolution with every patient interactionOther responsibilities as directed by supervisor, coordinator, or managerJOB REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAbility to support patients using a calm demeanor, compassion, and empathy, including urgent/critical callsStrong organizational skillsExcellent professional judgment, phone skills and decision making abilityProficiency with Windows based computer applicationsFlexibility and willingness to work as a team memberAble to prioritize and handle multiple tasksActive listening skillsAbility to proficiently use telephone systemExcellent typing and computer ability while simultaneously maintaining a telephone conversationAbility to consistently meet and adhere to performance and quality metricsAbility to demonstrate and uphold InterMed's ValuesOn-site, in-person training is required for this positionTraining is provided and is expected to take 3-4 weeks depending on experienceState of Maine residence is requiredProfessional appearanceSCHEDULE4 days per weekInterMed is an equal opportunity workplace and prohibits discrimination or harassment of any kind.
