The Resource Management & Insights Lead provides strategic and operational resource management support to functional line(s) within the Pfizer Research & Development division ensuring resource requirements for the clinical development portfolios are properly planned and understood to facilitate informed decision-making and allocation of resources based on business priorities. This role partners with functional line leadership to enable and enhance operational performance through effective forecasting, planning and management of organizational resources. The successful candidate will be able to understand the underlying data but also draw out insights and develop executive level presentations that draw out actionable items. How You Will Achieve It Develop ideas and lead/co-lead complex projects across business units. Continuously improve the resource management capabilities through the delivery of robust business tools, processes and data. Interpret internal and external business challenges and apply technical interpretation to meet business needs independently. Responsibilities: Lead or support multiple aspects of resource and clinical development cost management including data transformation, analysis, and reporting. Utilizes business-specific portfolio and project information to facilitate portfolio and resource planning reviews and deliver the Annual Operating Plan. Interacts with senior leaders to review their functional lines' strategic resource plan by producing business performance dashboards and key metrics utilizing advanced visualizations and appropriate communications that effectively illustrate data trends and patterns Partners with senior leaders and Resourcing Business Partners to ensure organizational resources are optimized and appropriately aligned to business priorities across the business functional areas. Partner with key stakeholders in understanding dynamics of clinical development portfolio, changes in studies and programs and tradeoffs across TA's and categories Proactively surfaces potential resource and cost related issues to key stakeholders and recommends go forward actions / sourcing solutions. Ensures potential resource capacity issues (shortfalls) are surfaced and discussed in a timely fashion. Derive demand forecasts using the Planisware enterprise portfolio project management system; create variance and trend analyses. Manages resource and cost assessments related to internal Pfizer portfolio optimization opportunities (e.g., project accelerations, PSI buy-ups, etc.) for supported Functional Lines In partnership with Finance, perform comparison analysis of resource demand forecast with financial forecasts of costs (" Latest Estimate") and reconcile business drivers for explaining differences. Supports the development, maintenance and analysis of clinical trial cost and resource metrics to increase accuracy in assumptions in planning. Reinforces the value of the Resource Management tools and processes with stakeholders Partners with Finance to coordinate development of the annual operating budget for global organization. Partners with Finance to support budget build activities, as needed. Partners with subject matter experts in business lines on the design, development, and maintenance of resource estimating assumptions (algorithms), drivers, and templates for use in generating algorithmically derived demand forecasts using the PLW enterprise portfolio project management system. Innovate new strategies and tools such as dashboards, metrics and KPI's. Leads or supports high-impact cross functional special projects that improve our business in the short and long term.
