Leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking are critical.

As an executive leader there are four primary responsibilities for this position:

Live our culture and 5P values. Provide strategic technical input and leadership to support our company's purpose, culture, and direction. Develop a companywide digital, information, and technology vision and roadmap in alignment with our business and growth objectives. Should include focus on internal efficiencies and our partner and employee-owner experience. Develop a DIT team that can execute on the vision and will serve and collaborate across the organization to recommend, develop, implement, and support effective technology solutions for all aspects of the business.

Essential Functions

Run & Protect the business: Ensure the fundamentals around base hardware, software, licensing, asset management, help desk, cybersecurity, business continuation, disaster recovery, risk management and annual budgeting Enable & Innovate the business: Provide leadership and direction to the company's digital, information and technology vision and roadmap that includes internal efficiencies in how we run our business, as well as our partner and employee-owner experiences with information and technology Develop the team: Invest time in growing and developing the team and recommend sustainable organization structure for the team to support the business and DIT objectives Extend T&I Value Proposition: Be a strategic resource with the sales team to extend T&I capabilities as a value-add beyond our products Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation, vetting emerging technologies and their application in our business to drive efficiency and growth

Additional Responsibilities

Ownership of Van Meter’s data architecture strategy and processes Benchmark, analyze, report, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems Responsible for ensuring effective cybersecurity strategies and playbook are in place to protect Van Meter assets and employee-owners Management of financial aspects of the IT Department, including budgeting and purchasing Development of business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives Develop and implement of all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, data, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision Negotiation of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, etc. Ensure effective communication within the organization regarding pertinent IT activities and updates

Job Requirements/Specifications

Four-year college degree in information technology, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience required 10-15 years progressive leadership in IT and digital field Strong business & strategy acumen Proven experience in building high performing technical team that builds relationships across the business and with customers Ability to travel to support the business and customer needs Track record of bringing people together to create a vision and roadmap around digital, information and technology to achieve the company’s growth strategy Proven experience with digital strategies that increase internal efficiencies and customer and employee-owner experience Proven experience and strong background in cybersecurity including risk management practices, compliance, security strategies and playbook General technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards as well as network and PC operating systems, including Cisco LAN WAN technology In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Strong understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems including sales, operations & financial processes they support Extensive application support experience with Microsoft products Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
