The Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for the development and management of the IT infrastructure, Cloud management and Service Desk while attaining all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have an inquisitive, analytical mind that constantly looks for solutions to difficult problems. The director must have the ability to convey complicated technology concepts to management. Technical knowledge and/or experience in areas such as systems administration, database administration, architecture or another technical domain required. This person will manage a team of architects & engineers and needs excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand business requirements. To succeed in this position, the candidate must be able to develop risk management strategies that align with business goals and operations and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems and data.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Lead a highly technical team skilled of Application, Infrastructure, and Cloud engineers.
Lead the development, enforcement, and maintenance of procedures, measures, and mechanisms to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information at the Company.
Develop and enhance KRIs, KPIs and Dashboards to report and monitor KPIs.
Manage individual and team workloads to deliver services that meet company needs.
Formulates and deploys long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing, communication technologies and customer service delivery
Responsible for Cloud tech stack management for all corporate applications
Manage IT operations and customer service departments operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources
Designs and Directs common IT service processes and service levels, including negotiating and documenting SLAs (both internal and external), performance/quality management, and managing outsourced relations. The scope also includes the Incident, Problem and Change Management, Capacity Management and Disaster Recovery for Infrastructure Support, servers, databases, and equipment.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including networks, data centers, servers, PCs, operating systems, and associated hardware.
Where necessary, re-engineer processes to ensure services align with business processes, tactical planning, and strategic vision
Defines and communicates project milestones, service level agreements and resource allocation to IT leadership team, department leads, support staff, and end users
Develops and reviews budgets for and from IT departments to ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives
Manages IT Finops for cloud and related technology spend
Reviews performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements
Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
Oversee provision of end-user services, including service desk and technical support services
Ensures infrastructure support and change management processes are well documented
Authorizes and oversees the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development and support of all hardware and software based on department needs
Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
Directs research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts
Oversees provision of end-user services, including service desk and technical support services
Develops and implements policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, technical standards, purchasing, and service provision
Oversees negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements
Supervises and ensures the efficient operation of the company's servers, databases, and hardware
Directs the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including data centers, servers, PCs, operating systems, and associated hardware
Works with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations
Ensures standardization of IT policies, procedures, hardware, software, and engineering standards across all locations is achieved
Practices asset and license management for IT hardware, software, and equipment
Conducts system feasibility studies and testing
Analyzes existing operations and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the network infrastructure, IT systems and workplace service practices
Qualifications & Skills:
A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, Masters preferred
Minimum of 8 years' experience managing complex IT environments and Restaurant/Hospitality industry experience a plus
Minimum of 6 years' experience implementing and supporting complex systems
Must be a persuasive leader who can communicate related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. Acting as a bridge between technology and business process owners.
Knowledge of SAP/ERP infrastructure an asset
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management
Minimum 2 years of working in a SOX / PCI environment an asset
ITIL and Project Management experience
Prior successful experience in managing large (multimillion dollar) budgets and implementing strong fiscal controls for technology spend
Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development and policy development
Program and Project Management experience. The candidate should have a proven history of leading large-scale infrastructure and security programs.
Experience working in a distributed global matrix organization
