Job Description

This position will be responsible for providing solutions for business requests, problems and initiatives by analyzing requirements, designing application configuration settings, implementing test plans and recommending system controls, workflows and protocols. The Application Analyst will ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and PCI guidelines in all projects and assignments. Contribute to and complete related system documents, assigned projects, tasks and service desk tickets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design new application configurations and set ups by analyzing requirements and studying system capabilities; recommend business rule changes when needed. Such changes may include, but not be limited to: rates, terms, discounts, charges, deadlines, product definitions, routes, combos, custom contracts, fielded data programs, and third party integrations.
  • Understand the business process and business requirements; use analytical reasoning to translate end-user requests into operational, application or specific technical requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, internal teams, and external clients to understand and meet business requirements.
  • Provide educational references for users by writing and maintaining user and system documentation; train users on specific applications, as needed.
  • Research, respond to and resolve assigned service requests and incidents in a timely manner. Monitor application suspense & error queues to assist in resolving issues and ensuring application performance and integrity.
  • Provide project support for system upgrades and patches, with a strong emphasis on system configurations, functional transactions, rates, reporting and testing.
  • Assist in developing and executing test plans.
  • Work closely with other Application Analysts to ensure complete, consistent and accurate communication about system functions, projects, fixes and enhancements.
  • Work closely with the development team on application interfaces to ensure accurate design, testing and verification of data transmissions.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks while ensuring that business rules, standardized practices, team processes, audit controls and set up rules are followed.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality where required.
  • Demonstrate ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Provide pro-active, accurate and complete status to supervisor on assigned tasks, including the identification of risks and issues where appropriate


Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's in advertising, marketing, finance/accounting, or technology is preferred. Experience in place of education is acceptable.

Experience: 3 years related experience (Advertising, Circulation, Accounting, or IT).

Prior experience in media or publishing industry a plus.

Experience or heavy exposure to accounting or finance applications a must

Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to demonstrate independent problem solving and decision making skills

Strong understanding of advertising cross-selling

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of databases

Ability to apply critical thinking and objective reasoning when analyzing information

Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
