Job Summary

Job Title: Trauma Resiliency Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Trauma Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive trauma care coordination within a multidisciplinary environment. The Trauma Coordinator will utilize the MUSC-ITS system for tracking patient data, conduct alcohol and mental health screenings, and implement Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) protocols.

SBIRT involves:

Screening

A non-judgmental assessment that determines the severity of substance use and the most appropriate treatment level

Brief intervention

A short conversation to help the patient understand the impact of their substance use and motivate them to change their behavior

Referral to treatment

For those who need more intensive care, SBIRT provides access to specialty treatment

30 Day follow up with patients to determine if additional intervention and services are needed. This role will also involve collaboration with social workers, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) units to ensure optimal patient outcomes and overseeing the Trauma Survivors Network prograam.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • New Grads welcome to apply
Licensing/Certifications:
  • MSW or LCSW licensing.
  • Relevant certification in trauma-informed care, mental health, or social services is a plus.
Experience:
  • Previous experience working with trauma-affected populations and understanding trauma-informed approaches.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse individuals and communities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support services available for trauma survivors.
