About the Role
We're looking to hire our first Owner Success Manager to manage the post-close support and success motion for operators who acquire small businesses with Mainshares. This role involves equal parts project management, customer success and strategic consulting.
This role is ideal for someone looking to transition from investment banking or consulting into an operational role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the first 90 days of ownership transitions. This includes activities such as QBO migration, business system configuration, tax account setup, and infrastructure setup.
- Build a strong working relationship with the owner-operators in your book of business, facilitating monthly check-ins to review financial performance, key business indicators, upcoming dates, and identify any problems or needs of the business.
- Partner with your owner-operators to ensure investor updates, governance consents, financial reporting and distributions are completed correctly and on time.
- Iterate on repeatable playbooks and tools to manage your key activities.
- Work closely with your product, sales and operations colleagues to drive value creation and success at Mainshares companies.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting or private equity.
- You are driven by mission and are more hardcore than most folks you've worked with.
- You are a proficient orchestrator with real delivery orientation: you thrive when staying on top of plans and to-do lists, keeping everything moving forward.
- You are comfortable navigating Excel models, building sales material, and can quickly adapt to new software tools.
- You understand how to track gaps in processes and have a solution-oriented mindset when it comes to helping our team ideate & improve on SOPs, tools and reporting.
- You are fine with monthly travel.
- Experience in implementation, onboarding or customer success roles.
- You have previous small business or private equity experience.
- You have the desire to acquire your own SMB one day.
