Financial Analyst duties:

  • Analyzing current and past financial data to give advice on LAFCU's financial trends. Studies industry specific business trends and researches data.
  • Create written reports using predictive financial models that enable the management team to make strategic decisions to meet business goals.
  • Work directly with CFO on various planning exercises including budgets, profitability analysis, and reporting.
  • Compiles and presents required records and reports including the Quarterly Call report.
  • Spots trends and assesses risks to predict outcomes for business decisions.
  • Working with financial software for analysis and reporting.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Three to five years of proven financial analyst or similar experience.
  • Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications.

Education

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in accounting, economics, or statistics; or
  • Achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

Interpersonal Skills

  • Extensive personal contact with others, often of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level.
  • Outside contacts are important; fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services.

Other Skills

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, credit unions, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks.
  • Ability to pivot and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent reporting, presenting, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting, reaching, reading, and speaking in a normal office setting.
