As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in the implementation and testing of our advanced algorithms supporting spacecraft autonomy and space object detection, tracking, and classification from optical payloads.

Responsibilities:

Design, architect, and develop software systems, pipelines, and infrastructure Guide best practices, design patterns, and coding standards Collaborate with team members & perform code reviews Mentor junior engineers Make key strategic technical decisions and assist with the estimation of timelines and costs. Maintain and improve technical documentation Enhance development processes, tools, and techniques Balance management of technical debt for existing systems with strategic project execution Maintain high standards of excellence across all projects

Required Qualifications:

Must be eligible to hold a clearance Proficiency in C++, with experience developing and building C++ applications using CMake 5+ years of professional experience in software development with a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline; OR 7+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree Expert proficiency in Python Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for C++ projects using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure Pipelines Knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN) and best practices for branching, merging, and code reviews Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with DO-178 standards for software development in safety-critical systems Experience with continuous testing, integration, and deployment of embedded or real-time systems Experience with migrating/refactoring monolithic code into a cloud-based microservice architecture Experience building and deploying Docker images. Experience with embedded systems, FPGAs, GPU programming.
