Role: FinOps Specialist
Location: DC Metro Area locals- Resource needs to be in person at 1-2 times a week in Herndon, VA office
Est. Start date: 12/15/23 06 Months plus contract
Rate: DOE
Employment Requirements: US Citizen

Role: The ideal candidate will possess deep familiarity with at least one major Cloud Service Provider (CSP) and have a strong understanding of cloud technology. The primary responsibilities of this role include cloud analysis, identifying cost efficiencies, and providing recommendations for operational effectiveness. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and presentation skills, as they will be responsible for effectively communicating and presenting optimization strategies to stakeholders.
Qualificatio- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Finance, Computer Science, or similar).
- Deep familiarity with at least one major Cloud Service Provider (CSP), such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong understanding of cloud technology and services, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS).
- Proven experience in cloud analysis and optimization, with a track record of identifying cost efficiencies and operational improvements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and derive meaningful insights.
- Familiarity with financial concepts and budgeting processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Finops Practitioner, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
