Job Title: Surgical Services TechnicianJob Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)Job Duration: 13 WeeksShift: Night 4x10-Hour (21:00 - 07:30)Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum of two years of sterile processing experience preferredLicense: Valid State License - VA or Compact requiredCertifications: Current certification in Sterile Processing Technology required: IAHCSMM/HSPA, or CBSPD.Must-Have: High school diploma or equivalent (GED), ability to organize and prioritize work in high-stress areas, computer skills preferred, ability to operate automated and technical equipment, teamwork approach, and compliance with behavioral expectations.Job Description:- On-call and weekends as needed.- Average daily surgical case volume: 30.- Average daily tray volume: 300.- Cleaning equipment (crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps).- High-level disinfection.- Use of washers/sterilizers.- Case cart preparation.- Proper selection of wrapping materials.- Sterilization wrapping procedures.- Scope/probe reprocessing.- Sets/trays assembly.- Reprocessing bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, fiber optics, flex sigmoidoscopes.- Scrubs provided.- Must not use a cellphone during work time.- Open to accommodating block schedule at the manager's discretion.- No floating within scope to meet facility needs.- Weekend and on-call requirements as needed.- Familiarity with EPIC charting preferred.Note: The hired candidate must complete up to 8 hours of modules within one week of signing. Completion is a prerequisite, and these modules are not billable.
